Doorway, a trompe l’œil piece..

This fake door matches all the others in the property. When approached from its main vantage point it seems to feasibly lead to another room off the landing. Until one tries to grasp the handle.
The door now helps an architectural incongruity take some shape. There is a landing left over from an idea to build a further flight up to a proposed attic room. Now it ends at a door way, to where? Maybe a guest room after dinner....
