Proposal drawings for full scale sunken Atlantis fantasy trompe l’œil..

The site is a basement swimming pool room in a large London house. There are existing architectural features which lead me to this design. There is a coffered ceiling over the pool, supported on four columns, which would lead to the effect of it being the single still-standing building in a deluged ruined Atlantis.

Executed in acrylics, on A3 paper.

To the side of the main ppol room is an antechamber leading to changing rooms. I intended for this to become the entrance to an adjoining building. There is a visual pun with one of the numerous alcoved statues being lost, so a mermaid has swum in to ape the missing figure.
