The fairy-tale castle mural for St. Edwards First School, Windsor, Berkshire, September 2010;
A customer reference:

The School:
"Mr Collett is a parent of a child in our school, whose artistic talents were first appreciated when he volunteered to create the scenery for our Christmas performance. We approached him to see if he would be happy to take on a commision to paint a mural on the exterior wall in our Foundation Stage playground. We provided him with some of the childrens ideas of what they would like to see in the picture These included, a castle, a dragon, a rainbow, a princess and a knight in armour.
Mr Collett quickly translated these ideas into a draft design (including a clever way of incorporating an existing bench into the picture to become part of the dragon) for our approval, and after a few minor alterations, the final design was agreed.
Mr Collett carried out the painting of the mural over a series of weekends. He always left the site clean and tidy, ready for the children to play the next week. We are extremely pleased with the end result as can be seen from the comments from the class teacher and children below, we would definitely recommend his work to others."

The foundation stage teacher:
"Our fantastic mural has really helped to brighten up the outdoor foundation stage area. The children love to look at all the detail and it often causes a brillant talking point amongst the older children and parents! We have used the mural as a visual prompt for independent writing as part of our literacy lessons. The children also enjoy dressing up and using the mural as a scenic background."

The children:
"I love playing on the dragon bench. I pretend that it is going to eat me." (James, age 4)
"My favourite is the princess. I like her long hair, it is like my hair." (Maria, age 5)
"We did some writing about the wall. I wrote that I like it all and my favourite is the dragon. I used to think he was a scary dragon but now I think he is really funny." (Calum, age 5)
